for most people at least in the US it seems like there's literally no time left for mindfulness with basically any actions, with whatever could have been mindful rapidly commercialized to the point where the mindfulness is filled with other things that use that attention

On one hand, you don't need to put time aside for mindfulness, you can take one minute to do a daily task while focusing on the experience...

... however, as Sister Hien Nghiem, a buddhist monk from the Plum Village monastary, says in a conference, the goal of mindfulness is not to make an unlivable world livable.. The way mindfulness is used in current enterprise is a warped understanding of the practice, with the goal of making more efficient workers. If a worker feel stress, it's because they're not meditating enough.
Sometimes the best thing to do for our well being is to leave. If you can't leave, and many can't, you will suffer. It's an awful, awful world we live in.
