The mating call of the American woodcock

American woodcoks are the perfect bird:
round
does silly dance
makes silly noise
has silly face
10/10 I love them
They're wonderful, like if you asked a third-grader to come up with a bird and then made it real
As an American, I saw "American Woodcock" and had a moment of worry that this might be something not-entierly-accurate about George Washington and his long-suffering wife but fortunately it's just a birb!
when did you record this? are they already out looking for love?
I recorded these at dusk last night here in the Lake Champlain basin!
