hate it when people add stuff to the mate. Sugar, other herbs, orange peel, thumbs...
Like I get you like the flavor but then it seeps into the gourd and my next mate will taste like the same thing even if I want it bitter!

I was prepared to fight you but you're right, putting other stuff inside the gourd is just mean. You can just brew mate in a normal teapot if you want it flavored! That's as rude as brewing coffee in a teapot
(and flavored mate is best when it's cold anyway)
