AI is magic in the heads of decision-makers and financiers. In this bubble narrative, protagonistic companies have come to accept the sacrificial head-count needed to activate their secret weapon. Unleashing the potential of AI and rising to power, shedding humans in your wake. Ascension to an algorithmic, almighty authority.
In this storyโ€ฆ mass layoffs mean the company is doing better than ever.

Red Sox at Oakland. Two very bad teams right now, though sadly it's not Oakland's fault at all.

The rule changes have largely made it better to watch, as games are more exciting and the pace is notably quicker. Still hate all the ads, and there's some drama around the league.

Notable drama includes the litany of issues with the new (cheap-ass monopoly product) uniforms, and the ongoing Oakland A's struggle. Both fascinating topics. I was actually very happy to see the commentators addressing the later directly. All last season they did everything in their power to avoid acknowledging the tiny Oakland crowd of predominantly protestors. Today they talked about it, showed people with signs, commiserated on how unfair the situation was to fans, players, and coliseum staff alike.
