oh cool seems like the ritalin/adderall "shortage" has finally struck me. pharmacist says they "have no idea" when my prescription will get filled. lovely.
addendum: one must note i am on methylphenidate (ritalin), not amphetamine salts (adderall). it is ostensibly adderall that is suffering from the shortage, not ritalin. and by "shortage" i mean a bunch of people discovered they have adhd in the past three years and now supply cannot keep up with demand, but that's only because the DEA arbitrarily limits production to "prevent abuse" and they won't raise the limits because the DEA is basically exists to harass addicts and is willing to incur massive collateral damage in their pursuit to make the lives of addicts as miserable as possible. and now the media is doing it's good old consent manufacturing shtick where it goes "oh my god why do so many people take stimulants now! it must be drug dealers faking symptoms to get prescriptions to sell and the mental health advocacy movement pressuring poor widdle doctows into over-diagnosing and over-prescribing!"
It's cool because if you wanted to intentionally design a system that makes it harder for people with adhd to get their meds BUT makes almost no difference to neurotypical people trying to "abuse" said meds, you could not do better than the thing we have right now
