that's interesting; id never really thought about the gender association with nuts, but it definitely was my dad that always had a tin of cashews in the car
im not sure if my tastes have changed much. i think i did eat more nuts during T puberty—i ate more of everything then—but i think that consumption mellowed out long before i transitioned
I also wonder how much of it is culturally specific to the US (or even, white Midwestern men)
Growing up in Argentina I definitely associated nuts with women. Specifically, with "moms"
Meanwhile the adult men I knew were more likely to order dessert or eat a pastry than the women (but then, how much of that is body image issues in the early 2000s?)
