I like writing and writing byproducts

I wanted to wait to make this pinned post until I had another online home but this month kept me mostly offline for several reasons so here's my last second life raft for posterity

Hopefully I'll sort things out soon and then update the following channels with where to find me:

You can find the worst version of myself on twitter @NoelBWrites because unfortunately it's the one place where I can still follow covid data and literary magazines

I also have a bluesky accound that I have literally not set up because fuck the whole thing, but you know, in case everything burns down: @noelbwrites.bsky.social

I do plan on migrating my Good Posts to Ko-Fi, no paywall of course: noelb It currently functions purely as a tip jar, but I'll start posting writing there while I figure something else out.

See what I'm reading on the Storygraph: https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/noel_b

Fucking add me on discord: noelb
Email me like it's 2001: noelbwrites@gmail.com

I hate all of these options but these are the options I have. Let me know of an option you hate less in the next six hours and I'll update this post

UPDATE: Bear blog is set up here, with RSS functionality. Placeholder page for now, I'll start migrating my writing once life calms down.

Backup page at mataroa until I figure out if I like it more than Bear blog. It also has an RSS feed

in reply to @NoelBWrites's post:

If you just want some dedicated site that's not a social media site, I often liked Wordpress, though moved away from it because they've started letting AI comb through its users stuff. I liked it over the other website builders though. But, the others do exist (Wix, Squarespace, etc.) which you might find easier or better to use. A lot of them let you try for free so you can see which you like best. I've moved over to self hosting on neocities, but that's a lot more work, and if you're already busy probably not what you're looking for.

I've seen a few people making their sites on bear blog. I've not tried it myself, but seems like it's pretty easy to setup. Actually, as I was typing this, I set up my own bear blog to test. Looks like it uses markdown, so might be an easy-ish solution when leaving cohost?

For me, this is my actual website where i'll mostly be

Seconding bear blog. If I didn't want to get "the whole experience" of writing template code and setting up DNS and having my own personal website with a bespoke naming scheme, I absolutely would've simply done bear blog
