Grand Fantasy High Rewatch Review in Progress update!

I've watched all of Freshman Year, including the two live specials, and it's great. The episodes are consistently fun and irreverent and fast-paced, it's no wonder it launched a twenty season show.

Now I'm on to Sophomore Year, the Live Season, which I'm finding much harder to watch. between the shorter, less-dense episodes, the occasionally missing cast members, and the DIY production values, a lot of the magic from season one has been lost.

It also suffers from something I see in a lot of Dropout shows - most of the cast have a background in improv, and whenever they enter an extended improv riffing sequence it usually sucks the energy and urgency from whatever they're doing. It's a fine line they're riding, but the Live Season thus far often feels like it's filling time

I hope it finds its footing, but it's also the pandemic season so I think there's just a lot working against it
