Nostalginaut

My latest long-weekend obsession was surprisingly productive.

I learned a lot through trial and error with these "rough cuts" of a "Big Bads" series of paintings that I've wanted to make for a while, but didn't think I'd ever get around to - let alone actually succeed with.

I think I'm going to be happy to hang these up. In fact, I think I'm going to be happy to continue painting these things (though I'm almost through with the pack of canvases I bought...).

Go, me, I guess.

This has been a great distraction for the past few days, but my ambition has begun to outpace my ability.

Taking recommendations for art supplies that'll help with:

• pencil smudging
• erasing said smudges
• clean[ish(ly)] scraping/shaping paint strokes
• dropping water BECAUSE WATERCOLORS ARE SO UNWIELDY OH MY god
