So, I finally got a chance to go through the community guidelines a bit more thoroughly and have to say while most of it is good, some of it is a conflict of interest for me (I'm going to rephrase) I feel some rules leave room for people who make an honest mistake or have alternate views (but also aren't an a$$ about it) to get punished. Not going to go into specifics of everything but what most caught my eye was this bit:
trying to downplay bad behavior with “it’s just a joke” when said behavior was not even a little bit funny. we reserve the right to determine what “funny” is.
Honestly, I'm probably reading too much into this, but this is less about the 'bad behavior' part and more about the 'we reserve the right to determine what “funny” is' part.
I do a lot of humor content (not that you could really tell from my posts here), and while I understand there's such a thing as going too far, I'm more concerned someone might deem my content as too far even though I consider it rather mild.
Best recent example is a comic I posted elsewhere a while back that involved my Reploidsona (basically an android from the Megaman X series) getting punched in the face (and then curb stomped) by Zero (a canon character from said series). Basically, my sona is depicted as black and female (because, surprise, I'm black and female in real life) while Zero is a blond-haired, blue-eyed male (don't know that it's fair to say he's actually white as he's both a character from Japanese media, and also an android). Although I write it off as self-depreciating humor, I realize someone may not take it that way.
Getting to my point, I don't feel like getting into trouble over something that's subjective.
Then there's other main issue with is site has always been their TOS. Not going to get into that as I've already explained my issue with that.
There's also more concerns I have, but this is it on that topic for now.
As for anything already posted, it'll stay up for now. I'm also still going to post here if I deem a subject important enough. Either way, this is it for now. ✌️
