Finished the first episode. Visually, an absolute treat, especially the space pirates. I'm not sure I've ever seen an anime with shallower characterization, and I'm not sure if that matters? Everything about the show says "this is exactly the anime we intended to make" and the visual spectacle of it is hard to argue against. And true to the first 60 seconds, the pacing remains excellent throughout.
