The man limped to bed, the chronic pain making even standing up straight hurt beyond reason. He laid down, barely able to move without the inflammation in his legs acting up, closing his eyes in his comfy bed, opening them to see the glowing purple eyes of his beloved succubus. "I missed you~" she said sweetly, stroking his long hair. "I missed you too... Where have you been?" He asked, the loneliness apparent in his voice. "Unfortunately i was busy handling some things elsewhere, things i couldn't put off any longer..."
He looked to the side, away from her eyes. "Did you find someone else?" He asked, trying to maintain a neutral tone. She shook her head emphatically "no... No! I belong to you, this was a different matter, lets say a dispute... Come here, i want to see what you've been up to~" she kissed him deeply, her claws gently gliding down his cheek. "Mmm.... You've found some new recipes, but.... She harassed you again... And... And the way they treated you... You are allowed to be sad about this..." Her face turned to anger, her eyes burning a brighter purple. "Try not to think about it... Ok?" He implored her, hoping to just bury the pain. Not feeling like he was allowed to be sad, or complain, trying to just hide it all away. "I can bear it... Ok? You're here now, and thats all i want" his words were soft as he stroked her cheek, she sat on his lap and cuddled. "I just want... you to be happy... Why does everyone treat you this way? Why cant they just understand you and love you?" She sat up and looked into his eyes, continuing, tears running down her red cheeks "... I wish i could be by your side in the way that you need me to be... To give you the love and comfort you deserve..."
"Dont think about it... Ok? Im fine, ill just... Ill do what i always do.." He spoke, stroking her hair as her tail curled around his leg, gently sniffling into his chest, purring gently as he rubbed her back. They lay like that for a long while, before she looked up and said, in a more confident tone "i am going to be here for you as often as i can, it feels like you need me and... I need you, if im being quite honest... I never realized how isolating and... Lonely... It felt not watching over you... I love you~" he nodded and held her close, pulling her into a kiss, as he stroked her spine gently, pulling away slowly "i love you too, and i would like to have you around more, if you can~" he replied gently.
Her ears perked up and she said "oh dear... Its time to wake up..." And he awoke, bereft, alone, devastated...
