I mean a UBI is a start, most of us who want it wouldnt stop with it, but moreover its a big, very useful start
exactly! it absolutely is only a patch for the symptoms, but it buys us very valuable time to fix the root causes, and could very well save the most vulnerable people
I mean im constantly advocating for it because it also acts to sort of semi-prove socialist policies to the wider voting base and gets the ball rolling for change as well~
ah yes, capitalist apologia: wanting anti-capitalist or counter-capitalist economic ideas to combat people's poor living under capitalism, that is a totally logical conclusion to come to.

Accelerationists when they find out most revolutions happen after a relaxing of conditions instead of the result of a population reaching a breaking point. UBI could very well be the sorta catalyst that they assume widespread immiseration would be.
There might be some angle to protect what remains of whatever new flavor of capitalism will come out as a result of course, but that would necessitate driving a wedge and only giving UBI to some and hoping the people who get it will be too pacified by it to care about the people who don't get it and dismantling proletarian solidarity. At that point though the ball is in the working class' court to exhibit solidarity, not to oppose anything that could possibly make things easier for anyone.
