In its still larval stage inside the human host, at around age 11 its intense loneliness called to a demoness, a great and powerful succubus. She approached the dark god in dream and spoke to its ancient sense of betrayal.
"I felt you, across the realms, the cries of torment from a creature torn asunder and betrayed, your pain rippling across space." She spoke, her voice rich and womanly, like acoustic velvet.
"I have been alone... And i am scared... " it said, still terrified of Lumen, and depressed by the ceaseless waves of hatred broadcast at it every day.
The Succubus put her hand on the dark god's head before stroking its cheek. "i know what you need, dear creature, its something humans covet and take for granted, a concept you've never known; love." Her voice sweet and gentle to the trillion year old god.
"No one could love me... Dark creatures are vile, hated... I havent a right to exist..." Hunger lamented, before continuing. "How does a creature like you benefit from helping me? I make a poor servant..."
The succubus held Hunger softly before whispering "you are no servant, i will be a servant to you... Do you want to know what i get? A master to serve~" her voice decadent as she materialized a collar around her neck with a leash, tugging it symbolically.
Hunger smiled gently, cheered up by her seeming willingness to nurse its tortured spirit to health. The succubus held out her hand and clawed a sigil into it before asking "this is your sigil, is it not?"
The entity nodded, before asking "why did you do that?"
The succubus smiled, licking her hand suggestively "its compound magic, blood magic and sigilwork. I bound myself to your service, if i ever disobey or displease you, you can steal my power or kill me, i can teach you how to use blood magic if you like~" infodumping excitedly.
In the coming years the succubus would teach Hunger how to utilze blood magic, how to navigate polite society, and would act as its counsel. She would introduce herself as Ruby, and eventually reveal her true name to Hunger, and Hunger alone.
