I don't even know what to say. This website has given me such an incredible community, I don't want to give it up... it's Empty Spaces leaving Twitter all over again.
I'm on bluesky, mastodon, and arguably most active on tumblr, but I haven't actually posted anywhere but here basically since I found the place.
I'll be looking for a personal blog option to keep posting stories. I like writing! I wanna do more of it!!
This is just incredibly disheartening.
Current personal blog options include:
- Dreamwidth, of all places, because it's apparently 2007 and we're using LiveJournal forks again, but it looks like a relatively stable option, at least
- Self-hosting? I've seen some guides
- Other options? Watch this space.
Oh, I'm also on itch.io, but that's obviously better for larger, completed works... I do intend to make more there, though. I have plans.
Yes, dreamwidth seems to be our lifeboat of choice today! You can find me at my personal blog, reliarobot.dreamwidth.org, and several other authors from this website (and me!) collected together at https://eggbug-writes.dreamwidth.org/read. Any future moves will be posted there! I'm going to attempt to set up crossposting to tumblr at my new writing sideblog as well, and post to all three for the duration of the month. I'll also be attempting to set up an archive on Dreamwidth just as soon as I'm able to get the time.
Thanks for the good times, folks. I wasn't sure anybody would actually want to read my writing before this year, so I'm glad some of you enjoyed it. I hope to continue to see you in the future, one way or another! ❤️
