whenever someone talks about predicting the next 25 years or whatever I think about that 1984 episode of The Computer Chronicles where one of the show's regular tech watchers insisted that he just didn't see a future for the newly-released Macintosh, because Apple didn't cater to corporate clients the way that Intel did and really that's the only thing that matters in modern computing. Hindsight has taught me that trying to predict the near future is a fool's errand
