i actually have the most.experience with the old ones, and almost none with the new ones. watched a friend play re2 at his house as a kid, we played a ton of re5 together, and i owned a copy of re4 that i played a lot. re5 was so racist

protector of earth DS has, like, one thing over on the home console versions and its the fact that you can play as gwen with a cheat (apparently) but i will flex that the home console versions of both games are, like, superior in every respect. which doesnt sound like a contest really and more just sounds like gloating. i do think you should give them a try. protector of earth ps2 is more of a 'chill out and grind it out on a saturday with your roommate' type of thing though IMO. bfbb is just genuinely good

what i know about bfbb mostly is that i think it has an unreasonably dedicated speed running scene, unles i'm thinking of another spongebob game

honestly i wish i still had the time and privacy to set up and play with my ps2, haven't touched it in like. a decade. same with my DS, i just do so much on the computer now

yeah i dont really play much on actual hardware these days either lol.. emulation is kinda the peak way to play for my specific setup.

but yeah bfbb has a massive speedrunning scene (that is, like, weirdly really mean? like, the most popular speedrunner in the category is kind of an asshole in that regard) and ive learned a few tricks on occasion just to make casual playthroughs slightly faster

emulation always feels beyond my brain.... the few times i have ever gotten it to work feels like pure luck honestly...

also, damn, that really sucks. i hate when a community is full of assholes (not the sexy kind)

i try to stay away from gachas on principle but i've heard good things about genshin's.. gameplay??? i played a bit of yakuza 0 but thats honestly the most ive played of any of those. i want to get more into yakuza but going in chronological order is weird bc yakuza 0 was so off the walls crazy.

like a dragon: ishin looks hard as fuck though and i NEED to play it

I like Genshin's gameplay and like. You can legit have a lot of fun in those two particular games without spending a dime. I'm starting to prefer Star Rail more though. I like the turn based combat and the settings are really interesting.

Ugh Yakuza 0 is still probably my favorite game in the series. Though Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is quickly rising to at least the #2 spot.

Ishin I really want to grab next time it's on sale. But my backlog is also so big...
