I've gotten some really silly feedback on my FFXIV videos.
On one, someone was very confused what a Let's Play was and was confused why the episode number didn't match my character's level. They jumped in like 200+ episodes in.
On another, I got a mix of good and weird feedback. They gave good feedback that the crafting episodes were far too bulky. I agree, I actually fixed that... not too many episodes after the one they commented on. It's been fixed for a while even before they left the advice. But their advice was combined with "I don't want to scrub through the video to find what I'm missing" and complaints that I was doing the crafting log in a crafting episode.
Which. Really? Not wanting to scrub through is fine. Complaining that I am doing crafting in a crafting episode is weird. But yes, I was handling it poorly at the time which is likely what they meant. But what's also bizarre about their advice is even before I fixed the crafting episodes, they still followed a very practical order - quest, base materials, pre-crafts, and crafts, in that order. It... really shouldn't take that much scrubbing. All the most important info is at the front, with the info becoming less and less important as you proceed through the video. It's... not that hard to follow? And if they're stumped on crafting logs... there are far better tools than a YouTube video. Like Teamcraft. Which I mention in... a good chunk of the crafting videos. Maybe I should make it a rule to always mention it.
I don't understand people sometimes. At least the one I got on the crafting video was mostly good feedback, if relatively useless considering I already fixed it.
