This is my weekly update post, cross-posted to both Patreon and Cohost, detailing the progress I've made on my Let's Plays. More below!
R&C: Up Your Arsenal
A lot of progress was made, but at the same time just as I was about to fully catch up I crashed headfirst into some rough road blocks!
Episodes 14-19 had issues with encoding - I did my best to fix them, but similar corruption simply appeared at other points in the videos. I didn't catch this until too late, after I had cleared out the raw footage from my hard drive. Really frustrated about this.
The situation got worse with episodes 21-24, where it wasn't just the encode but the raw capture that was getting corruption. Thankfully this morning it appears I was able to fix the problem for good! No more corruption! I have since re-recorded episodes 21-24 without the corruption and they will be going up over the course of this week.
The finale of the main game will be episode 27! The end approaches! After that, I am planning on a three-part set of bonus videos covering Challenge Mode and everything that remains. Two of the bonus videos will be Challenge Mode itself and any remaining collectibles, and the last one will be the Insomniac Museum + miscellaneous unlockables.
Final Fantasy XIV
The Ul'dah opening arc is now complete! The first episode went live for YouTube today, while the last episode is up for Patrons.
Soon, I will be beginning to record Chapter 4 of A Realm Reborn. My current priority is actually moving. If I am not able to move in a timely manner, or as soon as I have finished moving, I will begin recording Chapter 4. It's the best chapter in A Realm Reborn, easily, as this is when the story truly "begins". I am so excited to share it.
Miscellaneous
I had some rough tech issues this week. Turns out there was a bad setting in BIOS, leading the video being corrupted while in memory before being written to the hard drive. Thankfully it appears to be fixed!
Current goal is to finish Up Your Arsenal before I move, move ideally next week, and begin recording more FFXIV after I move. Wish me luck!
Apartment hunting is rough. I hate it! I hate him, Dunban! But I'll figure it out soon enough I hope. Tech issues are similarly exhausting. Really I've just got a massive pile of exhausting nonsense on my plate. A lot of it is good, but it's also change, and I have the type of autism that makes even good change exhausting and overwhelming. The routine of making videos has helped, but also contributed in its own way to my stress. Yay.
Oh, btw, my friend Tactician Geek has been streaming his first playthrough of Xenosaga on Twitch! We are half way through Xenosaga II at this point, so be sure to come join us! He usually streams on Wednesdays or Thursdays!
Coming Up
The Ul'dah opening arc is going up for YouTube! I'm working on finishing Up Your Arsenal! I am hoping to move soon! And there is a good chance I put up the poll for the next Let's Play after Up Your Arsenal in the next day or so!
