Let's start these QotDs by seeing how our Warriors of Light got started!
Question of the Day: How did your Warrior of Light get started as an Adventurer?
In the wake of the 7th Umbral Calamity, the Lhansi family hit really rough times. Hunting in the Twelveswood got ever harder, and Gridania got more hostile, leaving them struggling to get by.
On her 18th nameday, 5 years post-Calamity, Satora used some little coin she had saved up to board a carriage headed for Ul'dah to seek work. She quickly found Ul'dah to be hostile and inhospitable, so while she hadn't intended to stay she made it a high priority to save some more coin and set out further to Vesper Bay, board a passenger ship, and travel to her ultimate destination of Limsa Lominsa. On arrival, she formally registered as an Adventurer then sought out the Arcanist's guild.
During the Calamity, a passing Arcanist had saved her and several of her siblings after they were separated from their mother. She had never seen such magicks before and over the years had come to hope that the relative novelty would give her an advantage in hunting. That, and becoming an Adventurer would mean a steady source of work to help send money to her family and training to become a better fighter for the purpose of hunting.
(side note: Baderon was drunk and misspelled her family name when she registered with the guild, unfortunately; she didn't notice until well after becoming renowned as the Warrior of Light and by then it was too late to not be awkward if she did fix it. Most people spell her family name "Lahnsi" as a result)
