The further you get in the fight, the better the rewards. There is an impossible to get reward for beating him, something ridiculous like "you get YoshiP's job if you do this legit".
It ends at 25% health and then there's an unskippable cutscene of every member of your party getting suplexed, a freeze frame with each one
