happy eclipse day to everyone in the path! no matter where you are, no matter if you're only getting a partial or annular eclipse, and no matter what weather there is, i hope u appreciate and stand in awe of the unique way your Place chooses to experience the emotion of having the moon's shadow pass over.
if u wanna double check what time and percentage of your place's eclipse, u can use this map
ps: if you get clear weather (and ESPECIALLY if you are in the path of annularity, but even if you only have a partial eclipse) please please PLEASE take photos of the shadows of leaves and tag it with #eclipse and #eclipse shadows (and also #eclipse too i guess!!)!!
they project the solar eclipse down onto the ground as pinhole cameras and it looks VERY COOL, and its probably my favorite (yet little-documented) eclipse phenomenon. this photo is from the 2017 partial eclipse. i really wanna see what leafshadows look like during an annular eclipse! it should be like a bunch of overlappnig circles. its also a great way to observe the eclipse without special glasses!
