in oregon, just because you are no longer eligible for food stamps, does not mean you immediately lose all your food stamps
any leftover money is yours
at one year after money was disbursed, if it hasn't been used it gets returned to the state, but otherwise...
SO I COULDA BEEN USING FOOD STAMPS FOR HTE LAST 9 MONTHS
(they give way more benefits than i specifically need. there's not really a way to ask for less, nor ... should i? that's why they have the system to reclaim unused benefits. so i have a LOT left over from last year)
