The Old Reader is my personal choice of RSS reader these days, being more or less a direct recreation of the old Google Reader. They don't have a mobile app of their own, but they do have an open web API that is supported by a bunch of mobile apps on pretty much every platform under the sun.

Feedly has an app for both iOS and Android, as well as being on web. They've recently been scrambling to pivot to "Enterprise™" though, so I'm a little worried about them, enough that I switched to The Old Reader; but if you want a one-stop shop they're an option.

Flipboard is still around, and has even added support for ActivityPub feeds apparently, and has apps for both web and pretty much all mobile platforms these days, instead of being iOS exclusive. I haven't used it since it was still iPad only, but I loved it back in the day.

in reply to @estrogen-and-spite's post:

If self-hosting is an option,Tiny Tiny RSS is (in my experience) well-regarded and gives you syncing etc for free by virtue of being hosted on a web server. There are also Android and (unofficial) iOS apps.

There may be other options that offer the same capabilities without requiring a server, but I would have to do more research to find out.

@confusedcharlot and @kobold-wyx so you see the comments too.

so, I've not looked into it yet, but someone was saying there is a reader called 'feedbro' that also has a browser extension version. This would at least be the same reader on both computer and phone(through firefox or whatever), but I'm not sure if it would sync the history for you. I too would like this functionality, so if I find it I'll report back
