neat seeing vrchat implementing age gated features, in theory you could make all your avatars/worlds 18+ and/or advertise a world as being 18+ now1
the information i had read on the old tagging system until now was to not use it, so it's good that using the site will allow changing it without having to reupload, especially as i imagine plenty of older avatars are on older versions of unity/would be a pain to reupload
when it goes live
they're already not upgrading to new render pipelines that unity itself provides because the value of the platform comes from all the content that already exists, and even that much would break existing content to be unfeasible. the current version of unity the game uses is 2019, and only now are they testing upgrading to 2022, so to move to another engine would be another order of magnitude harder.
i would imagine they're ride or die with unity until the bitter end
Crap, Unity has a fallback plan. Truly game development is fucked.
