There is something about how social media works that is just, alienating as a whole
Cohost still has most of the same issues we have with pretty much every other social media.
A lot of it comes down to it feeling like interacting with an audience rather than being one to one, a lot of parasocial interactions rather than healthy ones. We tend to stick to IMs as we do not feel a sense of community from social media.
Probably got corporations to blame for that one, we never had a positive view of social media, especially corporate ones.

Even just trying to interact with friends does not feel wholly authentic, like being part of an audience interacting with them and we have no idea how to get rid of this view.
Everything feels like everyone needs an online brand, a facade to be seen as and interacted with, for likes, follows, and numbers.

We do not post often on any of our social media, mostly just sharing other people's content, because it always feels like any interaction we might possibly get is inauthentic, just an audience interacting with us, and it is incredibly difficult to feel like it is in any way meaningful.

Hell, the existence of the term "content creator" embodies pretty much everything we hate about social media. Art is considered "content" to be consumed and we lack the resources to actually support artists we like beyond just hitting reblog (rechost?) and hoping our friends (and others) who follow us see it and share it to hopefully find someone who can support them
