I would say about 50% of my opinion on things in Palestine is informed by the overwhelming amount of Jewish people I know horrified with what a state government is doing ostensibly in their name. This was true in 2006, it was true a decade ago, it's true now. To say that Israel speaks for all or even most Jewish people is at best incredibly ignorant, naïve, and reductionist, and at its worse brazenly anti-Semitic.
always remember also: the government doesn't speak for all Israelis, either. There are opposition movements, and let's not forget it was only a few months ago there were huge protests in the streets over Netanyahu's party reworking the country's judiciary to give them even less oversight. There are folks in Israel who have wanted peace and reconciliation for a very long time, and just because they're politically marginalized doesn't mean we can write off everyone from the country as evil (as I've been seeing. So many folks do, in recent days)
Let's not forget that in the 90s a prime minister of the country was assassinated by an ultranationalist for sponsoring a peace process.
This is an immensely complex and frankly very sad situation that has been a constant spiral of worsening for perhaps even over a century now. I have a bunch of Israeli friends who oppose Netanyahu and want a peace process! Nobody chooses where they were born, always remember that
