copyright and the ways it has poisoned art makes us sad... "closed species" "don't take inspiration" "don't use my ideas" ect ect... it all just makes us feel so upset, like people have forgotten what art is and how to share and collaborate with eachother
something we think about a lot is like, at what point does an artists work become ok to make derivatives of
so many people who are vastly protective of their ideas seem to be the same people who have taken ideas from other sources that are ok to take from, usually very popular ones. where is the line drawn?
undertale was basically made by one person, so was so many other projects, but these are ok to make aus and fan characters of and whatnot? why? because they're in the public consciousness,, they suddenly became the public's? what is the exact moment ideas are no longer your own?
and that's to say, it's all stupid, the idea of owning an idea. art and creation was never meant to be held back like that, it's all arbitrary. you don't own your ideas and maybe that's ok
