Former Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki has revealed a new startup called Pidgin that is developing a new logographic writing system "for the modern age". A press release details the company's vision for a "post-phonics writing system" that they claim will convey information faster and help children learn to read earlier than existing latin script.
We had a correspondent undercover at the Y-Combinator-sponsored announcement party taking place in a 30-person float tank in Deep Palo Alto who reports that Pidgin plans to monetize by including brand logograms in future releases of the character set, and will provide developer kits for LLM training dataset ingestion of the script for an annual fee. The event was cut short by Sam Altman's waterproof seal failing and his CPU shorting out in the water. Medics were seen carrying him away in a Rubbermaid bin filled with rice.
