Every time you see your friend who shares warnings about something they heard like "Discord is letting people secretly record you!" or "Cohost has security bugs, they're leaking your info to stalkers!" you gotta really ask yourself: how the fuck do they know? Did they just read it? Somewhere? In another server? Was it explained in detail? Did anyone who actually knows what they're talking about comment on it?
You gotta stop trusting GetUpComeOnGetDownWithTheThiccness, who works at the WaWa off of I-95 in Florida and calls it "The Bodega", when they say shit like that. They don't know how websites work. You're listening to the Sean Hannity of HTML and emailing your relatives saying the liberals wanna take our rel attributes away. If you don't understand that last sentence you are the target audience of this post.
You don't get to take part in building a user-powered support network trying to spread the word when you don't know what the fuck the word even means. Go out and learn about websites (it's free) or learn how to check the credentials of whoever you're amplifying. Or deal with being corrected constantly, I guess.
