in the manga when the pokemon get caught they just become small but in the anime they get turned into light. so what the fuck

Well, they're different canons. Also according to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the pokemon can just get small on their own? Like, it's not the ball that does it
imagine if cosmoem was in legends arceus. it could turn into a black hole whenever it wanted and no one could stop it
