mashups are cool because a lot of the time they ignore the actual meaning of the words being said (which are usually mediocre if the source tracks are popular music) and treat vocals as just an instrument but then every once in a while they forcefully reinterpret the lyrics of one of their source tracks, or maybe even combine it with other songs, which is also cool!
