Do you make games? Do you know someone who makes games? Then Indiepocalypse is probably looking for your games! (and to pay you for them)

(Link up top if you want to Submit)

But "what exactly is Indiepocalypse?" you may ask. Indiepocalypse is a monthly anthology of 10 alternative video and tabletop/physical games that I've been publishing for the last 3 years with the goal of better supporting (both financially and promotionally) said alternative games. 'Alternative' is the word I've landed on for now, but it basically it's basically my shorthand for 'traditionally non-commercial'. To you this might mean 'shorter', 'art', 'more personal', or any number of other things. I think of it as a real 'know it when I see it' term.

But why am I asking for submissions now? Well, I need to every so often and I haven't (in such a grand fashion) done so here yet!

Indiepocalypse was planned from the beginning to be sustainable in the face of no sales (fortunately not the case currently) but the greatest threat to Indiepocalypse's continued existence is and will always be, barring sudden unexpected bills, a lack of submissions. I have 3 'reserves' on sorts that fall back to in lean times

  • Games that are good enough for inclusion but were excluded due to lack of space and never resubmitted
  • Me just emailing people personally and asking them to join
  • Allowing repeat contributors I've had to dip into the first 2 a couple times but ideally I wouldn't like to! (I dip into the first on occasion, but don't like to need to).

Submitting is as easy as clicking that link adding your game to the "jam". (or using the always up indiepocalypse.com/submit) All games are welcome whether you've just made it 10 minutes ago or 10 years ago. Similarly, games of any subject/style/etc are welcome, though I do tend to curate towards my own personal understanding of 'alternative'. But also, never let that discourage you from submitting, it's free to do after all!

So why should you submit?

  • You get paid! ($20)
  • You get royalties! (usually amounts to another $20~40 in the first month, past that it's anyone's guess)
  • It's free to submit!
  • Your work is promoted as part of Indiepocalypse so long as it exists! (a long as i exist? longer?)
  • It's quick and easy to submit!
  • I don't own your game, it doesn't need to be (or become) a paid game, and it's not exclusive!
  • You get a free anthology with nine other cool games in it!
  • Many more reasons I'm sure!

Submit (or share it with someone you think would want to submit) today! If you don't have an itch account and want to submit your game you can always email me at indiepocalypse@gmail.com!

Sorry, missed this message! Aside from the hours between one month's entry period closing and the next one opening, submissions are always open. So the best thing to do is just submit when you're ready and not worry about deadlines.
