decided to make this its own post, so it wouldn't be stuck in the comments section of the previous one! this is a continuation of my answer to @vivisheep!

What does a Diligence angel bring to the table that another type wouldn’t? Same question goes for the Sloth Baphomet.

tl;dr: Diligence allows Maiden to speak extremely well, and she is often looked to for advice and advisement within her division. She is exceedingly thoughtful, and her angel grants her a lot of valuable wisdom. It allows her clarity and tact, valuable skills when under high pressure. The Sloth Baphomet was imprinted specifically to combat the power of her angel, and she was originally not planned to host one. Yet, she does. Sloth Baphomet induce a type of magical coma that rapidly atrophies the body, and causes vivid nightmares. They are one of the less mentally destructive Baphomet, though, and are mostly peaceful. Slothful Baphomet have a passive clairvoyant ability, and rational mind that sets them apart from most of their brutal cousins.

Because I'm a maniac, I wrote a LOT. I've appended the answer to the top, but feel free to read a more detailed explanation below:

In Sunsbrooke, there exist 10 sins and 10 virtues.

These all have different, sometimes adverse effects on the body, as patrons cannot manifest in Sunsbrooke without a host. This is because everything in the town is cursed with a hellbound polarity. Objects, items, people, if it's in Sunsbrooke, it is tainted and severed from a peaceful afterlife. This dooms most Sunsbrookians to either Limbo, or the hell beyond hell, PEKVÉDE.

In attempts to circumvent this, the church government is attempting to reconnect the town to heaven, a connection that was completely severed a long, long time ago. As the old magic users, dubbed Bookbearers, seemed to only want to commune with devils.

Because of this longstanding connection with Hell, the differing relations that the body can have with a Baphomet are extremely well documented, down to every sin, and every manifestation type.

THE SINS:
Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth, Treachery, Fraud, and Mediumship.

With Sunsbrooke being cursed, a Baphomet's influence can vary wildly in power, but being possessed or hosting a Baphomet will always give the body access to magic, at a heavy physical toll. There is a large practice of branding oneself, or performing rituals to contact Baphomet, as the process to do so is only slightly convoluted, in the hopes to gain power through doing so. Some see it as a rite of passage, some see it as a sickness, and others view it as a necessity. Below, I will document the effects that some of the sins have on the division members:

  1. Pride Baphomet: Competitiveness and aggression, the self aggrandizing over one's accomplishments. The want to embellish and praise your own actions. They have minor space altering powers, and tend to be very convincing.
  2. Envy Baphomet: Taking bits of others to create a true, unknowable self. Both loathing and idolizing others simultaneously. The wild-card of the Baphomet, they tend to attempt to convert others to their sin.
  3. Treachery Baphomet: Pure apathy, the inability to connect with others on an emotional level, extending even to one's own problems. Wanton lies and violence without provocation. There is nothing special about Treachery Baphomet, as they were bred to be laborers.
  4. Fraud Baphomet: Putting others to blame, a complete narcissist. They are witty, and know it, putting snark and disdain and often manipulating others with their speech. They have the power to manifest small tools and structures.
  5. Sloth Baphomet: Sluggishness and a clouded mind, the weakening of the body to succumb to nothingness. The loss of the ability to care about one's body, ignoring all biological signals. Slothful Baphomet have a passive clairvoyant ability, and a penchant for reading minds.
  6. Wrath Baphomet: Bloodshed and Torment, the need to solve everything with violence. There is a complete detachment from reason, turning towards instinct to resolve problems. Wrathful Baphomet are extremely physically resistant to damage, and are able to build muscle extremely quickly.
  7. Mediumship Baphomet: Vigilance and Paranoia, the cacophony of voices will never stop. Trapped in constant thought, those carrying a Mediumship Baphomet can hear the voices of patrons in proximity to them. Useful for locating possessed individuals, and conversing with patrons, but without an 'off' switch. Tends to overwhelm most imprinted.
  8. Gluttony Baphomet: Overconfidence and Indulgence, the good times cannot end, not until they say so. Boosts the natural dopamine rush, and causes a constant reliance on the feeling. Gluttonous Baphomet induce a feeling of starvation, and tend to have an easier time persuading others.

Unfortunately, the information that most Sunsbrookians, and even the church have on Angels, is very minimal. They have what their version of the scripture says about them, and notes from observations of those have been temporarily Enlightened. This information is very hard to come by, as most average individuals cannot host or bear witness to angels without irreparable damage.

THE VIRTUES: (not pictured)
Humility, Charity, Chastity, Gratitude, Temperance, Patience, Diligence, Sincerity, Loyalty, and Mediumship.

Angel Mediumship is very spotty, and hard to tune. Since it requires a patron to be present in the area somehow, to even commune with them - most places that Angels will be present are during extremely specific holy ceremonies. Yet, it's the only way that they have to learn about the beings that they pray to.

Though, that's getting into Division 3's territory! Division 6 is about combatting cultist activity and cutting down on those pesky Baphomet numbers.

In a general sense, because of the weakened state of the soul that Div 6's angels inhabit, their abilities are limited - so they do not overwhelm the clergymen with their influence. Angels tend to work behind the scenes, very quietly. patching up the psyche and keeping someone's mental state in good shape, unlike the Baphomet who take to reshaping the physical form to suit their sin. Below, I will document the effects that some of the virtues have on the division members:

  1. Patience Angel: Time is a virtue, the strength to abstain from being hasty or overconfident. A well of understanding and consideration.
  2. Sincerity Angel: A deeper connection with others, a familiarity with the true-self. The ability to hold true to one's beliefs, and admit mistakes.
  3. Temperance Angel: The logical and critical perception of the world without malice. The ability to compare scenarios, and be aware of outcomes.
  4. Humility Angel: The silencing of the Id, the desire to learn from others and reflect those improvements on the self. The clarity and tact that seeps into speech, the ability to piece together relationships and handle them with the severity they deserve.
  5. Loyalty Angel: Undying devotion, the dedication of your time to something larger than you. To be always true, when the going gets rough, honesty is paramount.
Diligence Angel: Awareness and work ethic, an endless capsule of energy from which to pull from. Thoroughness without fault, the ability to retain goals, objectives, conversations.
  6. Chaste Angel: Helps stray away from the temptations of the flesh, and the desire to act on raw impulse. Allows for purity and clarity of thought, completely abstracting and removing romantic and sexual inclinations.
  7. Gratitude Angel: Clarity in reasoning, contentment with what is granted. A humbling sense of fulfillment from merely existing. A lot can be done with the self when the inclination to 'want' is dissected.
  8. Charity Angel: To give, and to protect. A selflessness beyond bounds, the ultimate sacrifice of one's ego. The drive to exist and care for others, and to give away when one has too much.

Hope this helps clear things up!! and thank you once again for asking!!
