Hoo Boi, ok, I believe this is the final Tekken game in the series that I have never played before. Unfortunately Tekken Revolution can no longer be played so that's off the table forever. I am also not counting street fighter x tekken.
I played two versions for the PSP and PS3. Played the former on my Vita and good lord, it is fantastic, it runs really well, and it has a plethora of modes. It lacks the scenario campaign of the console versions but it does have the story quests of the Arena, so there's a prologue and a ending for characters. What's really is cool is that if you buy the psp version, you get the ps4/5 port for free(upscaled and all).
Now the ps3 version is pretty good. It looks gorgeous and has around the same amount of modes the psp version has, but has the scenario campaign mode featuring the games protagonist, Lars Alexandersson, Heihachi's illegitimate son. It's a beat em up game like the previous games, although like those games, it's pretty jank, but cool sometimes. In this mode over time, you can unlock other tekken characters to play as in the scenario campaign. You can unlock equipment or customizations for the character you play as so that's really neat. Speaking of customization, this game has the most in depth character customization options of all the tekkens so far. Not only you can customize numerous outfits, but you can even customize the different parts of the hair. Front, back, front left/right. It's nuts. It even has thos in the psp version.
Overall this is a fun game and I believe I am ready to play Tekken 8 on release. Unless there's some other obscure tekken game in the barrel.
