I noticed there is a tag with "In-App Purchases" and I learned there's a live service element to it and the in game currency Warbonds can be earned in game or with real money... Yeah that's gonna be a no for me bud. I'll stick to a sale on that one.

It wasn't stealth dropped. The date for the game has been around for a bit. The monetization has also been there for a while but not talked about as much.
