Yknow, it'd probably would be a good idea for mini consoles to be made with the sole reason of selling classics. If the nes/snes or playstation 2 mini were created with its own online store just selling classics, that could solve some problems so emulators wouldn't need to be running on current consoles. Would it make money? I don't know. Would I buy one? Probably.

A 150-200 dollar PlayStation 2 mini with 30+ launch titles, an additional 20+ available for purchase on an online store (10-20 bucks a pop, depending on the game), 5 new titles to purchase per month and a subscription service ala Game Pass that's extended alongside each store refresh?

I'd be down for that, tbh. Because, as of now, the only tier of PlayStation Plus that's remotely worth it is maybe the lowest one.

I'd unabashedly love the higher tiers if I had access to all the PS2 MegaTen games because I'm biased like that, but it's embarrassing as is.

I get that contemporary console manufacturers want to funnel customers towards their subscription services, but I don't know why SEGA doesn't lean in on the mini-console thing more. A Saturn or Dreamcast mini would be sooooo dope.
