THE FUTURE IS YOURS!

Just seeing a blob about a glob

I bought and download the crash and spyro bundle that was on sale for my Steam Deck and I started with spyro. In all my years of gaming I've only ever played spyro like once or twice either at a store's demo kiosk or someone else's home and never touched it. Playing spyro reignited is such a good time. The visuals on low for the deck is so pretty to look at and on my OLED, running at 90fps plays like a dream. The gameplay so far is nothing too complicated and controls wonderfully. The first world hub isn't too challenging or big so I could 100% that area no problem.

I wish I'd play these game earlier, it's such a comfy game so far. Hopefully the difficulty doesn't scale to extreme down the road. And quick question: who had the audacity to make these dragons hot dilfs? Who's responsible for this!?

Makes me so happy to see people diving into these games for the first(ish) time. One of my all time favorite platformer series.

The last world of Spyro 1 (and especially the final boss) is the peak difficulty for the series. 2 and 3 have a couple spikes but it's generally very manageable. I think 3 is probably my favorite but the first has a special nostalgic place in my heart. I go back to it almost yearly and have been since it went on PS Classics many moons ago (before I upgraded to this excellent visual remake).

I missed these games as a kid (we were a Nintendo household), but going back and discovering them now on the Deck has been a real treat.

Well, Spyro has at least. I don't remember buying it, so I guess I maybe got it in a bundle? Wherever I got it from, it didn't come with Crash, so I might have to see about grabbing that too if you have a good time with it.

Hell yeah, purple dragon time. Insomniac really got their shit together after Disruptor, it's kind of crazy how high they stood above most of the competition at the time. I've been saving Reignited for a rainy day, but I'll play it eventually.
