That is hella gross man. Makes me question even more about why bother buy any of these studios if you can't even upkeep them? It's such a waste

YOU HAVE THE PROTEGÉ OF MOTHERFUCKING SHINJI MIKAMI DELIVER YOU YOUR FIRST GOOD GAME IN MORE THAN A DECADE AND THIS IS HOW YOU REWARD HIM MICROSOFT?!
My thoughts exactly! What a WASTE!!! That game was the best PR Microsoft had in ages...
I was like "Yeah, Ghostwire is fuc...OH this is about HI-FI Rush..."
But I agree it sucks. Talented team for sure. Too niche games I guess...
Phil Spencer - "Hi-Fi Rush has surpassed 3 million players on GamePass and we're very happy with its performance... too bad you must now die!"
What are we doing here Microsoft? Fucking hell!
Avatar reminds me about how worried we might be for Double Fine. They haven't even hinted about anything since Psychonauts 2 and they were very clear how difficult that project was
Yeah, I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened yet. Nobody's safe 😓
Somehow I forgot the 1900 jobs they cut earlier in the year.
Just a level of greed I'll never comprehend.
This is like Sony shuttering Japan Studio all over again. Nooo the people don't want shorter more unique/experimental games, we must quickly divert all resources to megafranchise slop so we can have all our eggs in one nice neat little profit maximizing basket.
But is anyone here actually, truly surprised? Could smell something like this rot long ago. Xbox want only the big names and that's why the used billions on Actblizz, not because of the small "shitty" games that wont earn them big dollars.
That Shinji Mikami left was a pretty big warning sign in itself.
Haven't played Hi-Fi, but Ghostwire is one of my all time fav games.... ever, so I know they are damn good devs. Too bad their games werent big hitters, rather niche. Xbox want only the big names obviously. Just wait and see how they will milk CoD and Candy Crush to dust.
This all just means the future of Xbox games is going to be even more flat in variety. Through in the new set of development "rules" and I think I might just never get into Xbox ever again.
Why the fuck are they buying so many developers if they're just going to shut them down?
Hasn't Hi-Fi Rush just come to PS as well?
Just what the hell are they doing...
