And it works pretty well! The seller said they'd give out 3 games but I received more than that! Wow. There was a few few controller disconnects and I don't know of it was the controller or the port but after making sure the connection was secured it never showed up again. So far, everything is running as intended and Burnout 3 is still a blast after all these years. Now I just gotta learn how to get a xbox live account on here so I purchase Phantasy Star Online and play it again.

You literally got all the games you'd ever need in that package. One of the best sports games ever made? Check. Best arcade shooter ever made? Check. Best arcade racer ever made? Check. Best WWII game ever made? Check.

Confession time? I played about an hour of PSO and fucking hated it. Don't even remember why, I just remember having a visceral reaction to that game. Might just be I didn't understand the concept at the time.

Very opposite experience with me, I played PSO Version 2 on the Dreamcast back when you could buy Dreamcasts for $30, and so by then all the online servers were shut down, but I was addicted to playing the offline mode. Eventually I played through Phantasy Star Portable, which I really enjoyed, but by the time Portable 2 came around, I was burnt out on the rather repetitive gameplay

My guess is I just didn’t grasp the “grind” aspect. Around that time I was mostly playing JRPG’s or shooters, and even stuff like Diablo I never really engaged with the endgame. Basically just played until I hit the credits

That’s understandable — PSO’s dungeons are very large and seemingly endless. Because I was playing the game alone, I didn’t quite grasp the scale vs the intent that the game was made for large groups. I probably couldn’t play PSO today, I had a lot of patience it seems when I was younger

Thats fair, I believe what people loved about it is that it's multiplayer focused game. It's offline 4 player splitscreen co-op and online mutliplayer on console was so new to numerous people. It was definitely a core memory for a lot of people.

Unfortunately, I'd have to do one of those hacks to make a xbox live account or else you won't be able to play it at all. I've seen videos but I'm not up for that just yet. I still have my gamecube version though.

Burnout 3 remains one of the best racers ever, it has one of the best racing game soundtracks of all time, and no Burnout has topped it since. Every time I try to play Burnout Paradise or any of the earlier titles in the series, I always find myself going back to Burnout 3. Every. Damn. Time.

In case you didn't know (I myself discovered it the other day), and you want to "play your backups from hard drive" wink wink, it's now super easy to softmod an OG xbox, you just need a cheapo usb adapter or access to another modded xbox and a memory card

I still have mine from when I was a kid. Jade Empire is excellent, Black is a great FPS, there's a really fun Punisher game on there, SC Chaos Theory is amazing, Metal Arms is worth playing, and JSRF is a must play masterpiece.

Just make sure the capacitors aren't leaking as they tend to do that.
