I hate a lot of things about Star Wars, but I don't think I hate anything more than the concept of Grey Jedi.
It is some centrist shit. Coward shit. Being unwilling to commit.
Grey Jedi are every D&D player who chooses chaotic neutral and proceeds to do the most heinous shit but its fine because "they aren't evil it says on my sheet". Rules-lawyering bullshit.
Let's take a fun character choice:
You can use this great cosmic power, but you have to do so calmly and without emotion lest it destroy you. To do this we have placed restrictions on ourselves.
or
No restrictions! Freedom! Do whatever you want. Don't worry that the will of universe is destroying your body and everyone around you in retribution- You look so cool!
Like you present people with this choice and instead they go... but I wanna do all of it. I wanna figure some tricky trick and be the most special boy.
And my guy they did a whole fucking trilogy about the most special boy who tried to do both and winds up falling to the dark side because you CAN'T.
