I kind of miss the creepy atmosphere you get when you follow the trail of blood coming out of Jenova's tank, seeing a bunch of dead Shinra employees everywhere. Suddenly all the random encounters are weird monsters and there's no trace of Shinra security anywhere. I don't think the remake quite nailed that bit but I can understand not wanting to risk upsetting the rating board.
