There's a weird amount of stories in the post apocalypse genre where society collapses specifically because every person on one side of the gender binary vanishes. Those stories are always flawed by their very nature because regardless of the explanation for the mass disappearance, or lack thereof, for the story to function people who don't fit that binary are either completely ignored or denied their identity by the author.
And to be quite honest im not sure why the Lisa games get a pass from most folks who would otherwise agree with everything above.
