Is there any daily task tracker app on android that is:

  • Offline. No signing up to a thing with an email. This is not negotiable.
  • no ads, also not negotiable
  • can be set up to push a notification at a specific time if I forget to do the task

Like I could set up a daily task in my calendar app and that would probably serve my needs but I would rather not bloat it that way.

You must log in to comment.

in reply to @Pauline-Ragny's post:

I'm also interested in one of these since I didn't find one for desktop, so I checked out some that were recommended by my sources (google search results for "to do android")

Ticktick (https://ticktick.com/)

  • Prompts for login, but it's optional. No ads, but has IAP (Subscription) for premium features.
  • Free version can only set reminders on-time or earlier, so it does not meet your third bullet point without setting it up backwards.
  • You may be able to use task duration to set up the third bullet point more easily, but that's a premium features.
  • Seems the free version's limited to 9 list of up to 99 tasks each. Up to you whether that's enough.
  • This one's got a lot of stuff. Multiple reminders, a lot of organizational stuff (folders, tagging, filtering, etc), pomodoro timers. They got a 2-axis grid in there.
  • It's a commercial app, even if it's good now can't tell how long that will last.

Tasks.org (https://tasks.org/)

  • No login, no ads. IAP for some features on the Google Play Store version. I checked out the F-Droid version which has nothing locked behind IAP, so no idea what these are.
  • Can set task start and due date separately, so you can set up point 3.
  • Also has a global notification option for anything you don't set the due date for.
  • Still plenty organizational features. List, subtasks, tags, things of that nature.
  • IAP (Subscription) for synchronization.
  • Some UI jank. Seems highly customizable tho.

Tasky by thatsmanmeet (lotta apps with this name)

  • No login, no ads.
  • You set up a task and a optional reminder.
  • No more features.
  • Only supports daily recurring tasks.
  • All reminders are set per-task, no default reminder like Tasks.org

Microsoft To Do, Toodledoo, Todoist, Any.do

  • These all require some login.

Taskade

  • This one showed up as "Taskade - AI Productivity," so I did not check this one further.

Hope this helps, I'm sticking with Tasks.org for the moment.
