So many fuckin big budget action games nowadays want to be Bayonetta and they will implement a perfect dodge mechanic but then they don't bother giving their monsters legible attack animation with clear visual and audio tells. Bonus points if all your moves, even the ones supposed to be quick, are overly animation locked so you can't get into a satisfying rhythm of attacking and dodging, because half the time your dodge doesn't go off when you want it to. Fuck!!! Off!!!

I remember playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey and it was trying to do a little bit of that with perfect dodging and blocking and it felt like absolute garbage. That and a lot of games refuse to employ hit-stop or anything that adds extra impact to attacks.
