hello everybody. I went to Bend for Labor Day weekend with my wife Erin. Somehow I never made it to Bend despite being born and raised in Portland so it was a great time! It’s so pretty there. I haven’t spent much time in the desert despite it being right there
We also went to Crater Lake, Oregon’s only national park! Erin had never been before. It was really smokey in the way there but we got really lucky and it cleared up mostly by the time we got to the rim. We even managed for find a little bench that was, somehow, devoid of other people. We got to sit and snuggle together in total silence with the beautiful vista of the lake.
We also went to the high desert museum! It was great to learn about the flora and fauna of the desert. There was also a living history village there that was really cool.
The highlighted the birds of prey show though! They had multiple species of hawks, a vulture, and an owl. I even got bopped on the head by a hawk’s wing as it flew overhead! I can only post four pictures here apparently so you only get one of the bird of prey show until I make another post
