We've hit Blackwatch Plaid

  • Un/Well

A human shaped carafe of crazy.

I always miss the weekend posts lately, so here's my life update and game update after break:

Shits busy. Court is never ending in regards to my sisters estate. Now the feds are involved and I've just thrown my hands up at it all. I've been assured I'll be reimbursed tho, so it's whatever. I just want it done. It's been soooo long. In better news, back to school in a couple weeks. Excited for that. Getting my notary cert, as well as becoming a certified first responder trainer. Only took 4 years, but my career path change is almost here! Very excited about that. I'm old and sore. All this fighting is too much.

Games I've been playing:

Cobalt Core: It's a solid, good game. But I find it boring for some reason. Just not feeling it, but don't have a good reason as to why. I won't refund it, bc as I said, it's good and solid. Will revisit.

Path of Achra: Buy this shit now. Roguelike and game of the year for me. Never had so much dying, and never put so much thought into pressing one of two buttons. So many choices and options. Perfection. Play the demo, it's the full version, but older, so it only has about 1/4 of the content.

Combo Card Clashers: This might be my roguelite of the year. I don't even know how to describe its combat, but it's deckbuilding, mixed with an mmo like grid to place your moves, along with min maxing your chosen character with equipment and artifacts. Just a god damn blast.

Vampire Survivors: Contra dlc sucked me back in.

Mortal Kombat 1: Spent the last week learning Reiko with Sonya Blade. I am a menace.

TV I've watched: Yearly Sherlock (BBC) binge. Along with White Collar which is fun so far. Still need to watch Fallout and a bunch of other stuff I've missed.

Movies: Beekeeper was fun af, and actually had a story, and a wild one at that! Also watched Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and damn that was a fun throwback flick. Didn't realize it was based on Ian Fleming and where his inspiration from Bond came from! That made it all the more fun for me.

Hope yall are doing ok. Much love.

I tired Cobalt Core and got bored quick too I put it down to not having much items or different weapons to dramatically change builds and feeling more like a lite puzzle game then a full roguelite maybe. Kinda same issue Into the Breach maybe has for rogue lite lovers. I am very tired of the roguelite formula of here are dots you choose between and then go to battle and rinse and repeat that. I want more weird out there roguelite and roguelite structures like you seem some experimental indie rogue lites do. Btw Zet Zillion a card based roguelite came out yesterday and seems to only be like $9 and a good bit of content.Main differences it has is a fusing system that lets you merge most of any two cards together and a more heavy story focus then the average card deck builder rogue lite has.

So, you unlock shit that makes the run more fun, as you beat runs, and I think that's a shit system. It makes us play the boring shit to get tonthe funner stuff, and just no. Not the way to do it imo. As for Zet, already wishlisted brother. Just got Rungore tho, so card games are paused for me atm. Rungores a fun, fast card based runner, that actually uses memes right, and is fun to boot. Quick ass games too.

Always good to hear about someone changing careers late(r) in life. At 33, I'm still needing to give college a, well, college try. I was only there for 6 months back in 2012 and whilst it was a great social experience, I didn't know what I was doing. I thought I wanted to draw professionally or work in the games industry, but a clearer me has now settling for marine biologist.

I know, random.
