Vixen. Genie. Vixdjinn!

Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

A Friendly Vixdjinn Says Hello!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️‍⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

The more I watch people play Street Fighter 6, the more I realize that I vastly prefer fighting games that are monumentally silly. Just completely goofy. Utterly unhinged and full of japes, even if it takes itself seriously.

Like... It's a strange thing to say, I know. SF6 has people throwing fireballs, an electric gremlin-man, and a guy who can stretch his limbs beyond reason. But somehow it feels so restrained and... normal? Like, it's flashy, it's slick, it's got style... But the supers are akin to "Here's a a really impressive series of masterfully executed normal moves".

And I'm like... Where's the silly? Where's the weirdo character that'll drop the moon on you? Or the guy who melts into a puddle? Or the girl who'll pull a goddamned Howitzer out of her coat? Or the cow who knows how to use a lasso? Or the character who tricks you into taking a bunch of photographs together, and that somehow deals lethal damage to you? Or the tiny man and dog who are piloting a walking tank?

I dunno. SF6 looks really good, but somehow it feels... standard. Which is crazy for me to think??

I'm not terribly enthusiastic about it but the four button mode is decent and I might het to play with some people I know.

It can definitely be very silly - watch how Dee Jay moves! - but I can also see what you mean.

I doubt I'll buy it or play it myself, given my backlog, and the fact that the game will probably be more of a job than a game. Plus, the whole, you know... Who knows when I'll be able to play any game again.

I was watching Dee Jay a lot last night! His rapid-punch super is really fun. I love his autograph win pose!

But again, it feels a little scaled back. I love going "HOLY HECK WHAT???" when I see characters go full tilt.

I think my favorite little Dee Jay thing is he gives a little finger-wag when he feints. It makes me wish I could control that move at all!

Instead, I am Assigned Marisa At Launch. You've seen her, you know why.
