Vixen. Genie. Vixdjinn!

Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

A Friendly Vixdjinn Says Hello!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️‍⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

Hitboxes? Hitboxen?

... Hitboxels?

I've kind of collected these over a decade or more, swapping one out for another as console generations refreshed (They sure aren't forward compatible with consoles). I do enjoy collecting oddball controllers, and they all tend to work with PC, but even so it feels a little rotten that I bought the same controller so many times.

I know it's controversial, but I really like the Hitbox. Gamepads never were granular enough for me to get precise inputs, and arcade sticks I never got the hang of (I always overshoot my inputs and wind up airborne). The Hitbox always felt more comfortable, particularly for inputs like 632146+P or something similar.

That's not to say I'm an expert. Honestly I don't break out the Hitbox often enough, and I really need more reps with it. I need more reps with fight games period, because while I grok the theory, I fail the timing, interpretation, and dexterity.

I wish I could find a good home to at least one of these Hitboxes, too. They're probably so out of date as to be useless, though.

oh, neat. i've never used one but have been thinking about getting a Snack Box Micro or Micro XL to try and learn because I feel a bit dissatisfied with Saturn pad and the theory behind certain inputs being easier on button boxes seems sound.

it's kind of weird and alien though and i'm not sure this dog'd be able to learn the new tricks sufficiently. i'm often a gief main also heh

If you're really looking for digital inputs only, or a series thereof, the Hitbox is an excellent control device. But I won't deny it takes some getting used to. I'll confess that a youth spent mostly playing fighting games on a keyboard primed me well to move over to this kind of controller - and even then, I tend to be a bit 'stiff' in comparison to other fighters. You really stay grounded unless you really want to.

You can train your brain into accepting it, but it really is an additional layer of effort on top of all the normal fight game nonsense! If I were able to let you try it out, I would in a heartbeat.

And yeah, some people really do use a Hitbox for gief, but holy heck 360s feel impossible to me, at least.
