Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

I've decided to be a big advocate for "cringe isn't real"
because all it boils down to is getting upset at someone for liking something you don't.
"oh you like [insert thing] that's cringe" That sounds like THEIR problem not mine. i can keep enjoying my thing that makes me happy and hurts no one and they can be mad that I'm happy. not my problem.
Yeah!! Exactly and completely agreed.
I saw a discussion of this on Tumblr recently, where someone was pointing out how "Cringe" used to be exclusively a verb. It was a thing people did in response to being uncomfortable - But language mutated to make it an adjective that people attach to the actions of others instead. In so doing, they transmuted the term into one of judgement, and something for people to self-police in themselves lest they incur such judgement.
When people try desperately to avoid being, as they say, "Cringe", what they mean is "I'm going to do everything I can to be sanitized and banal, so that an unseen force is not made uncomfortable".
In reality, if someone is uncomfortable with any manifestation of actions, presentation, and identity that's their problem. Not the other person's issue.
It's a hard lesson to learn, and I still struggle with it. But I like to think I'm getting better!
We pay independent artists money that keeps them fed, clothed and housed, and in exchange we get stuff that's unique and wasn't there in the world before that everyone gets to enjoy. I feel less guilt over that than buying a ticket to Top Gun 2. (Or at least, I should.)
These are lovely as always by the way!
Honestly, hell yeah - Getting resources into the hands of independent artists, giving them something rad to create, and then having something rad as the culmination of the exchange is awesome at all levels!!
And thank you <3 I continue to adore both of these (and wish regularly for events of this nature to occur to me in embodied life)!
"cringe" is usually synonym for "the person using this term is an asshole". Oh no someone is enjoying something they enjoy oh noooo
I got a FA comment once where someone went "this is just wish fullfillment" and I'm just...yes? AND?
I mean, that seems like a reasonable shorthand at this juncture, I'd say. Like, someone's inability to understand that not everything is for everyone is one thing, but "Everyone must only like what I find palatable" is just beyond my desire to engage.
Also, what a head scratcher of an FA comment. Does this person think that commissions are only supposed to be of realistic and readily achievable scenario??? How utterly boring.
